Residual income is where you get paid over and over for doing your work one time. This is also known as recurring income as is a fantastic concept once you understand how to use it to your advantage.

One way to create residual income is to become an affiliate marketer. Oftentimes people do not think of affiliate marketing as a way to create residual income.

Here are four ways you can build a residual income for the future and do it with affiliate marketing.

1. You may be familiar with two tier affiliate programs. These programs pay you for sales that you make, and they also pay you a commission on sales of affiliates that you recruit.

A way to create residual income from this business model is to build a sales force of super affiliates and earn income on every sale they make. Over time you can walk away from your business and still make money every month on the sales of these highly qualified affiliates.

2. Develop multiple websites and earn money every month on autopilot. Here are people who make millions of dollars every year on websites that they do not even look at anymore. These sites generate traffic, and create commissions for them through affiliate sales, because of the hard work they have done in previous years.

One way to do this is to do affiliate marketing in multiple niches. This way you can make money on the Internet selling many different kinds of products.

3. Sell residual income programs that contain a membership fee. For example there are training programs on the Internet today that bill on a recurring basis.

As an affiliate you can earn a commission every time one of these rebilling occurs. Over time this can add up to a tremendous monthly income just on sales that you made previously.

Another example of this is to sell products people use and need again. Website hosting is a good product to sell as an affiliate because people need to host their site next month too!

4. Create your own products and let affiliates sell them for you. For example you could write an ebook and sell it with the ClickBank.com. Every month new sales can be made for this product as you work at creating new products.

These are four ways to use affiliate marketing to build a residual income of your own. It takes a lot of hard work to develop a residual income initially, but the rewards down the road can be worth it financially.

Residual income is one of those fantastic concepts that really doesn’t seem achievable to most people. However that has changed thanks to the Internet and two tier affiliate programs. These do represent some fantastic possibilities.

Let’s take a look at the pros of creating a residual income from two tier affiliate programs.

The key to being successful with two tier affiliate programs is to first of all become a super affiliate yourself. If you are one of the top affiliates in the program you are representing, you will do much better when recruiting new affiliates to add to your team.

This means that you will learn everything about your product, and how to sell it online before you try to teach your second tier affiliate to duplicate you. There is no shortcut to success on this. You must become successful first before you can teach someone else.

Of course the downside to this is many people are not successful in their affiliate business. Therefore it is not realistic to think that they will be able to create a residual income from affiliates they recruit either.

As you become successful you can certainly use that to your advantage when it comes to recruiting affiliates into the programs you are representing. Oftentimes people use two tier affiliate programs to sell the product and they overlook the second tier income aspect.

Therefore you should concentrate on building a list of successful affiliate marketers that you can cultivate into an income stream of their own. One benefit of approaching it this way is as you find new products to represent you have a list of successful affiliate marketers you can bring on board with you.

You see this happen in the network marketing industry, but it does not seem to be used on a regular basis with affiliate marketing. The easiest way to do this is to create a separate autoresponder that you can contact your affiliates with.

As with anything on the Internet this does become a numbers game, but over time you can develop a very success oriented list of affiliate marketers that can make you rich. This is your go to list of people that can help you create a residual income.

Of course you can create your own products and quickly bring these people on board for it. However, as an affiliate marketer you may only want to market existing two tier affiliate programs and that will work too if you have the right type of affiliates underneath you.

Earning Residual Income, Leveraging Your Online Business Efforts.

If you were to open a business today, any business, would it be one that sold a one-time item, or something that people kept coming back for? If I were to put the effort into getting a customer once, I would want to keep them as customer for as long as possible.

Earning residual income has become one of the most popular business models for affiliate marketing. Why go through all the effort to get someone to buy just one widget when you can get him or her to pay for your widget and the widget sharpening service every month?

Prospective customers usually need to see your ad, product or service several times before they feel comfortable enough to buy. That means getting your ad in front as many people as possible. It’s a numbers game that must be played but why not at least put it to work for you?

For your first work at home business you may want to keep costs down and work on just producing any amount of income, while still learning the ropes. With residual income opportunities, since someone else is earning a rresidual income from your efforts, you should have plenty of support and training from the program you choose.

Do not go into a residual income opportunity assuming that all you need to do is sign on and pay a small monthly fee and others will do the work for you. If you go in with this mentality you will most likely fail to produce the results your looking for.

What to look for in earning residual income opportunities.

Look for as much of a turn- key business system as you can find. The Internet has produced many programs, some are legitimate money making opportunities, and many are scams or schemes. So do your research before spending any money on programs that promise earning residual income.

Legitimacy is the first thing to look for with any program you are considering. Do a Google search for the program and if it shows up in online Internet marketing forums see what is being said about it. If it has a good reputation on the Internet marketing forums and is well established then you should be in good shape.

Training is another thing to look for within the program, especially if you’re new to Internet marketing. It should have a good training website and resources to promote the products and the opportunity itself. Don’t necessarily think that your sponsor will have the time to walk you through everything, as they have a business to run themselves. They should however be able to answers a few questions and point you in he right direction to get the information you need.

Earning a residual income is one of the best methods to start an online business and learn the basics of Internet marketing. One thing to remember if you are new to Internet marketing or any network marketing in general is that earning residual income online will take time and effort. Don’t expect instant results, and don’t think you can buy your way in.

One thing is certain, if you don’t start building the foundations to earning a residual income, you never will earn one.
