4. Kids are expensive and we could all use more money when it comes to providing things for them. For some people having enough money to get them involved in a special music program, or competitive soccer league is made possible because of the income from their Internet business.

5. If you have ever seen pictures of the Caribbean, traveling more might excite you. If you were able to save $1000 a month it would give you $12,000 to take a trip somewhere. You could go almost anywhere in the world for $12,000.

6. Giving more to charitable causes is a dream for some people. There certainly is no shortage in the number of charities that could benefit from successful home based business owners who have money to use for meaningful causes.

7. You could invest your money and retire at a young age. It takes money to invest in real estate or the stock market, and oftentimes there is not enough left over from a regular job. Taking some of the Internet business profits and investing them is a smart thing to do.

You may have other things you want to add to your list besides these seven. The key thing is that you develop a dream list and read it every day. You will find this to be very motivating when it comes to building a successful Internet business.

Many times the difference between success and failure in a home business lies in doing the little things. Today we all tend to get lazy because the Internet makes it so it easy to build our businesses. One thing that has not changed over time however, is the importance of incorporating networking into your home based business.

Here are a few overlooked ways that you can combine networking in your home based business to achieve the results you are looking for.

Networking is where you get to know people on a personal level and provide value and benefits to each other. One little thing like sending an email to a blog post could create a lifelong business relationship.

Another important step that I see people miss is taking the time to reply to the emails they receive. It is very easy to get busy on the day-to-day activities of building an Internet business and forget about networking.

If someone takes the time to send you an email, and ask you a question, this should be one of the most important things you do that day. I am not talking about wasting your time on generic questions either.

Hopefully your website has a frequently asked questions section where people can get answers on some of the easiest questions. But for more detailed questions you should take the time to reply to those honestly and to the best of your ability.

In order to be successful with a home based business you will have to be innovative and in order for that to happen, your approach will have to innovative as well. Having a home based business is not as unique as it used to be. What we mean that it is not unusual to know someone who has a home based business . You might even have a business of your own that you run in your home. What is still great today is having a successful home based business, and thousands of people all over the world are doing just that.

Running yourhome based business can be both good and bad. If you talk to someone who runs a successful online business out of their home they will concentrate on telling you all of the good things about it. On the opposite end of the spectrum a person who is trying to get their business going and are having problems will spend more time talking about all of the things that go wrong everyday.

So who is telling you the truth?

Any home based business that you start is going to have it’s ups and downs. When you first get started you will soon realize that there is not a lot of people knocking on your door looking for your product or services. It is going to take some marketing skills and a lot of effort on your part to let the world know you are in business.

I would go so far as to suggest that in the early days the person who is now successful might have spent 95% of their time promoting their home based business. If you were to analyze the unsuccessful home based business person they are probably spending considerably less time on promotion and more time on busy work.

Busy work is surfing the Internet, putting staples in the stapler, checking your email 15 times a day, going to the post office, dusting your home office, and so forth. Although little details do have to be paid attention to that can not and should not be your focus in the beginning.

You need a customer. Then you need another one and another. The only way to get your first customer is to make a sale. If your business is operated out of your home, but really takes place on the Internet you need traffic to a website.

If your home business is based on a service you provide such as carpet cleaning or plumbing, then the Internet can be a support tool, but most of your business will come from offline advertising such as local yellow pages or newspaper.

Word of mouth referrals is an important part of any successful business so it is important to do a good job for your customers and then ask them if you can use them as a reference. There is nothing more powerful for future business than a testimonial from a satisfied customer.

In summary we have looked at two types of home based businesses. One is successful because the pay attention to growing their business with advertising, doing a good job, and then asking for a referral. If you keep this attitude in your home business you can be one of the successful and happy ones.

There are many ways to make money online with a home based business and some of them even live up to their promises. Multi-level marketing knows no boundaries, in fact when was first developed it was referred to as distributorships and a few companies were able to experience tremendous growth due to these home based business income opportunities. Many nine to fiver’s are bucking the system by starting a home based business. Confinement to a cramped cubby hole in a perpetual maze of dividers is a thing of the past for these entrepreneurs.

So what are some of the perks to having a home based business? To start, you can keep your own hours. Your schedule is as flexible as you are. Need to see the dentist? Make your appointment for whenever. No more waiting around for that first appointment of the day or trying to find an office open after five. Kids have a mid-week soccer game? Not a problem. Better yet, you know that cable repairman that says he’ll show up sometime between 11 am and 4 pm? You can tell him, “That’s perfect.” and really mean it because you’re home all day anyways.
